INFORMATION FOR TENANTS

If you are looking to rent a home on the beautiful island of Bahrain, we can help!

We understand the worries and anxieties often involved in setting up your own home. That's why we're determined to make finding your ideal home as simple and straightforward as possible and by choosing Property Leaders you can be safe in the knowledge that our team of expatriates have lived and worked in Bahrain for over 10 years and have the experience to show only properties that are worthy of viewing.

  • We will accompany you to any of our available properties for viewing.
    Sunday – Thursday 08:30 – 16:30 (weekends on request).

  • If you decide you wish to rent one of our properties the following terms and conditions will apply:

Rent
Payable monthly in advance. In the case of joint tenancies only one standing order can be accepted.

Payment Terms
It is a standard procedure for three months rent to be paid in advance and subsequent monthly payments arranged by standing order or as agreed in lease.

Security Deposit (with certain landlords)
An amount equivalent to one month rental and payable in advance - to be returned subject to any deductions e.g. breakages, after the tenancy has ended and the property checked. Interest will not be paid on deposits.  When a security deposit is required by the landlord it is the norm for only two months to be paid in advance.

References Required
Applications for a tenancy are independently assessed and must be supported by an employer reference or company guarantor.

Rental Term

The normal minimum term is 12 months. Other terms are available by negotiation.

Diplomatic Clause

On the occasion that the tenants’ resident permit is cancelled, the tenant may give appropriate notice to the landlord at any time as agreed in lease document.

Possession

Possession of the property will be granted on the date of commencement of the agreement, providing all of the tenants and any guarantors have signed the agreement and all outstanding monies are paid to the landlord or Property Leaders.

Note

Due to a fast moving lettings market, the first party to complete an application form and pay an advance payment will be considered as the potential tenant, despite any verbal undertakings that may have occurred during previous viewings with any party.

Restrictions
Some rental properties have certain restrictions allocated by the landlord relating to sharers, smokers and tenants with pets.

Taking Care of Your New Home
Once you have signed the tenancy agreement responsibility for the property will rest with you, the tenant. You must report immediately any maintenance, gas or electrical faults.

Maintenance
Whilst renting one of our properties, should the need arise, you will be able to contact our maintenance team 24 hours a day, to attend to emergency repairs.

Inventory
An inventory will be provided to you on the property contents and condition. We advise all tenants to thoroughly check this important document.

Once you have chosen your property, we will ensure your lease is appropriate and that there are no hidden clauses.
